I Open the estate files
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania publishes its Register of Wills estate filings. Pick months inside the 2–7 year window; each month is read from the county's own search.
Paste notices from the legal-notice pages. Each notice gives the decedent, file number, county, first-publication date and personal representative.
A county docket export with a header row. Columns are read by name: case number, date filed, decedent, date of death, personal representative, address, county, state.
II The two-to-seven year window
Life-insurance money reaches the state only after the insurer's dormancy period, so an estate under two years old is still the insurer's to pay. An estate with no filing date is never guessed into the window.

III Unclaimed life money
Matches come from each state's own unclaimed-property file and are name matches only — confirm identity before contacting anyone. Every heir can claim this money directly from the state for free. Fee caps, waiting periods and registration rules are read from each state's statute; outreach locks when they can't be verified.

Every estate is checked against every state file here — money escheats to the state of the owner's last-known address, not where the estate was opened. Most states only offer a name search on their own site; those are linked from each result.
